project

Our first Air Dolomiti aircraft took off into Europe’s skies in 1991. We became part of the Lufthansa Group just a few years later, and today we operate around 370 flights a week, connecting our Munich hub with some of Italy’s most important airports.

We have since created a cultural bridge between Germany and Italy without ever losing sight of our most important objective: our top priority has always been our passengers, our on-board guests.

Our air passengers are cosmopolitan, travelling for very varied reasons and driven by quite different passions, interests and needs. They include business travellers, out-and-out sports enthusiasts and holidaymakers in search of a once-in-a-lifetime experience and adventure. Many of our guests are into Italian fashion and design.

Others have gourmet tastes for Italy’s tasty local cuisine. Others are in search of the authentic Italy, and its cities’ little-discovered and off-the-beaten-track aspects.

Our “Alternative Guide” project was born with such ideas in mind, with the aim of presenting our guests with a series of fresh and lively travel guides showcasing our destinations from new and unknown angles. We have designed the topics in our guides to reflect the variety of our passenger-guests’ interests.

We have preferred not to go down the traditional route of classic travel guides, but have instead selected the five themes of lifestyle, sport, culture and local treasures, as well as following our authors on fun excursions to explore the areas surrounding the cities.

We’re pleased by the idea of not just accompanying you on your flight, but also becoming part of your complete journey – together we’ll discover our travel destinations with fresh eyes.
